Indus Civilization: One of the oldest civilizations of the World in Mohenjo-Daro:

Today we will discuss this oldest civilization but before talking about this topic let's read its introduction.

 Introduction of Indus Civilization:

Indus civilization is the oldest systematic and well-organized civilization of the 26th century in Mohenjo-Daro. It is also known as Harappa Civilization. It is the third most ancient civilization in the world after Mesopotamia and Egypt. When did Indus Civilization discover?

Discovery of Indus Civilization:

In the year 1921, it was discovered in Punjab and Sindh (provinces of Pakistan) near to Indus river

by John Marshal. it became an archeological site of UNESCO World Heritage in the year 1920. Two cities included in this civilization which is Harappa and Mohenjo-Daro.

Mohenjo-Daro:-

Mohenjo-Daro is also famous as "The Mound of the Dead". It is the biggest city of the Indus Civilization with an area of three hundred hectares. This biggest city was built around 3000 B.CE ago. It was divided into two parts Citadel and Lower cit.  You will see how was it a well-plan city and I hope you will amaze after watching the below video and reading about the life, people, and construction of Mohenjo-Daro.

Great Bath of Mohenjo-Daro:-

The great bath is a part of the Mohenjo-Daro's oldest construction. It was situated in the Citadel part of the city. The bath was formed by mud bricks. The bath looked like a floor of bricks that was 8 feet in height while 900 square feet in area. The floor contained two skins of bricks that were placed on edge with the help of plaster, sand, and bitumen layers. This great bath could provide water to seven hundred wells in the city. Due to its great capabilities, it controlled the sewage system of the city systematically.
In this way, it was a great source of supplying fresh water as well as expelling wastewater. 
  The importance of a bath is undefining but if we talk about regarding its use. According to history, there is a conception by archeologists that people used it as their ritual bathing. Now begin the discussion about people of that era.

People of Mohenjo-Daro:

Discovery of Seal:-

According to Sir John Marshal (archeologist) opinion, the printed writing and pictures of animals such as camels, buffalo, elephants, etc on these seals indicate that people speak a language that is unknown yet for today's world. Simply we can say that these seals were the source of getting an education at that time because some of them contain mathematical images it is also believed that people also used these seals for trading purposes. The font style of writing is like Karoshi while among these seals the most famous seal is the Pashupati seal. The Seals are composed of steatite, which is a type of soft rock while some of them are composed of different substances such as gold, chert, agate,, faience, and ivory. These seals are in standard size with a dimension of two by two.

Debate on  building Great Hall or Great Bath:-

The Grainy Hall is a wooden structure building that was discovered by Sir Mortimer Wheeler (archeologist)
in the year 1950. According to his research, it was a bay where carts fetched grains from outside of the countryside to this bay for storage of grains. But due to his lack of proof for this hall, it became the topic of debate that is termed as Great Hall. but it is also known as the Great Bath that we have already discussed above. In simple words, we can say many things are unknown to us, but what History tells us we have written in our article.

Market or Houses of Mohenjo-Daro:-

There were not any temples, places, or worships that gave indication religion is also not discovered yet.
But Houses and markets are present there. If we talk about the market that is situated in the middle of t Citadel that gives the sign of trading and commercial business. It is said that most people of Mohenjo-Daro were business and traders. Houses were made of wood and mountain rocks Most of them are in buildings like structures in which five or three rooms were built. These houses had washrooms with the proper pipeline to control the sewage system. These well-organized functions in the city show that the Indus civilization is one of the oldest and best civilization
