 Today we will discuss Famous Islamic architecture as well as  Tomb of Jahangir and Royal Fort Lahore was built by whom? But before further going into topic I want to analysis what is the meaning of architecture in english? firstly then we will discuss another topics.


Architecture:-

What is architecture?

According to dictionary and vocabulary the architecture means arts, practice of designing so, simply we can say that architecture is construction of buildings. It reflects the natural inclination and taste of a people. Now we talks about Muslim Architecture below.

The Muslim Architecture:-

The Muslim Architecture is unique and beautiful. It possess some main characteristics which are given below:-

1) The Muslim buildings are spacious broad, wide and well exposed to light.

2) The Muslim buildings are well proportioned and balanced. 

3)The Muslims worked hard to make the buildings elegant, attractive and beautiful.

4) The buildings consist of  domes mostly the small dome was internally decorated and its's beauty is visible only from the inside of building while the outwardly constructed dome looks very beautiful.

5) The Muslims introduced perpendicular design in their building like minarets which are made to rise from below. This leads grandeur to the building.

6) The upper portion of buildings is never a mere straight  line. It is often traversed by balconies, domes, and minarets. And in this way yet another dimension is given to the beauty of the building.

Famous Islamic architecture:-

We have many examples of muslims architectures but here will will discuss some of them which are following:-

Tomb of Jahangir at Lahore.


Tomb of Jahangir at Lahore:-

This tomb was built under the direction and supervision of  Empress Noor Jahan. During the Sikh rule, considerable damage was done to it. But was built in persian style and there is a garden that is laid  out in four quadrants. Every quadrant is divided into quadrants in turns,

terminated by channels of water that express the four river of paradise. Water from wells dug outside perimeter was lifted onto channels that were built into the tops enclosure walls, The tomb is placed in single-story structure with attractive stone-setting, tilling and geometrical design lapidary which add grandeur to the structure of building.

Royal Fort Lahore

Royal Fort Lahore:-

The Fort is located in Lahore which is also known as Shahi Qila. It was build around sixteen century by Mughal Emperor Akbar, known as "Akbar the Great". Since his reign, many leader had brought many changes in it with respect to time like in seventeen century  it was called "Crystal Palace" or "Shish Mahal". Despite all of the renovations and addition to the fort, Akbar's work can generally distinguished as the red bricks construction. There is a entrance which was made by  Aurangzeb now it is known as "Alamgiri Gate".  
In eighteen century, the fort was damaged. But it has now been restored carefully in order to enjoy it's original splendour.
